Liverpool’s decision makers haven’t been shy of making promises about how this transfer window is likely to pan out.
First, new sporting director Richard Hughes openly predicted a “crescendo” of activity in August as a result of major tournament disruption.
Then, head coach Arne Slot declared that "it would be a surprise for all of us" if no signings at all were made across the summer.
Of course, with less than a month left until the deadline, the Reds have yet to make a single tweak to their squad.
